Well well well! British PM, David Cameron flew in a commercial flight on BUSINESS class (mind you, it wasn’t even FIRST class) all the way to Washington.
Did he lose any class doing so? Nope! In fact, he probably just gained a ton of brownie points! Fancy that eh?
The British PM’s commercial flight saved around $300,000 and although it doesn’t make a big difference in the grand scheme, as CNN’s Jack Cafferty said, “the gesture is huge.” Take that American Politicians. Your lavish lifestyles in a recession could use some cuts as well, taxpayers shouldn’t be the only ones doing the cutting back.
Of course, having Obama fly commercial might turn into a circus considering he’s both popular as a politician and also seen as a celebrity. Imagine what happens to Lady Gaga at the airport and multiply it by 10000000000. That’s only half the calculated reception President Obama would receive if he flew commercial.
Not to mention how many codes such as “EAGLE ONE!” or “CODE RED WHITE & BLUE” the Secret Service and FBI would be whispering in a not-so-discrete-manner to try and protect Mr. President’s safety.
Nonetheless, I’d smile every time I paid my taxes if I got to say, “NO CUTTING Ms. Pelosi! You’re in zone 4. Just as you were taught in second grade, please wait for you turn in line.”
Imagine the money we would be saving, imagine the shopping I could be doing!
